19th c. CHALKWARE Cat newest

This charming Chalkware newest Cat is clearly primitive, dating from the 19th c. Simple in form and detailing, it measures 6" high , 3 1/2" wide and has a depth of 2 1/2". Early chalkware rarely makes it through the test of time without some indication of its age, due to the softness of true chalkware. In the case of this cat, his right foot show edge chipping and his right ear indicates evidence of it been broken off at one time and glued back on and has been stable for a number of current years. There is overall scratching, again due to age. But, it has survived over 100 years, has been enjoyed and appreciated by cat lovers. Still adorable !
