The middle of coastal California, where olallieberry, avocado, bay laurel, optunia, sea urchin, abalone and albacore are all plentiful...pink peppercorns, the bright strawberry fruit of the arbutus tree, the many shades of the manzanita, oak flowers, matilija poppies, California copper pots, salvia apiana, salvia Pozo Blue, Carpenteria californica, Iris douglasiana, California lilac, San Luis Obispo bush mallow.
