This is a mixed media piece of Chief Mountain in Montana, United States. However, this is the view from the Alberta, Canada side. It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7x11 inches to 24x36 inches.
I have had the opportunity to climb Chief Mountain a couple of times newest. It is an iconic mountain to anywhere living in Southern Alberta.
The final product may vary slightly from the photos above as it is made to order.
My process to make these pieces is as follows:
Draw on the lines with pencil
Burn in the lines my wood burning tool
Paint in the spaces
Burn the edges of the wood with a torch
Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering
Or you can watch the time-lapse video of the creation of a similar piece on my YouTube channel "Brian Sloan Artist"!
