Small 9x12" original watercolor and acrylic painting of a vintage English floral ceramic teapot in shades of milky white, with a mottle jade green handle, spout, and base. It's embellished with a graceful folk style floral pattern in rose pink, pale yellow, and blue. The original stoneware teapot was most likely made in Staffordshire, England ca. 1760.

Painted on Strathmore Acrylic Paper with a linen finish. Unframed. The main image shows a slight curve in the artwork which is natural to paper that has been painted and varnished, but will lay flat when matted and framed.

This is series of original watercolor and acrylic paintings featuring antique ceramic and china teapots visible on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's online open access collection.

I used a combination of watercolor, acrylic paints, chalk, and color pencil on each painting, and finished with a couple of layers of clear archival varnish in a satin finish, which adds a slight sheen.

Each painting includes raw edges of approximately 1/4" all around which is visible in the listed images and included in the listed dimensions. These raw edges can easily be covered by matting during the framing process.

As a watercolor on paper, the materials used are fragile and if not handled with great care, can be damaged or torn!
