Absolutely wonderful find for genealogy enthusiasts of Herndon, VA; specific to WWI & WWII! Compiled by the Herndon Post 91, American Legion & American Legion Auxiliary in 1949. Includes many photos with entry dates, a brief description of whether the service member (man & woman) was discharged or killed in action, and the survivor's career after the war. In some instances, an address newest of the service member when entering is provided. The book lists the "Gold Star Boys" as well as a brief history of Herndon with photos & history of local landmarks such as the Herndon Baptist Church and the Herndon Library. This historical book is 73 years old, so please view photos for spine condition - there is wearing at the top & bottom of the spine as well as along the hardcover edges.
