We use 3 layers of high quality exterior acrylic paint on 1/2" MDO board with 1' x 2" framing boards around the back to preserve the integrity of the piece. It takes longer to paint and more time is needed to get all the colors painted in three layers so it costs more to make. Because our paint is high quality exterior paint we do not put a sealant layer on our work.
