A vintage Hall China Company Nora water pitcher with lid. This water pitcher is a creamy ivory color, it has a spout and ice lip under the silver colored lid. The style of the pitcher is sleek and swooping, there are half circles alongside the handle on each side, it is very elegant yet functional. The water pitcher measures 8 1/2" x 8 1/4" from spout to handle and is 3" wide, the opening is 3" x 2 1/4" and the lid is 5 1/4" x 3". This particular water pitcher caught my attention because it has the original lid. On the bottom of the water pitcher is the Hall logo in the rectangular shape, R in a circle, Made in USA and the number 2340, this particular logo is the one that Hall China Company has been using since 1969. Hall China Company first began production in 1903 in East Liverpool, Ohio making utilitarian wares like jugs, bedpans, and mugs.
Thanks to a single fire process developed by Robert Taggert Hall between 1903 and 1911, Hall China is durable, non-porous, and unlike other types of china, it doesn't craze. This piece is in excellent condition, there are no chips or cracks, there is a small indent on the ice lip but it is smooth.
