⚫Beautiful examples of a much loved tradional folk art of India ~~ ornately detailed papier mache jewelry boxes, handpainted in Kashmir ~~ embellished with multicolor floral designs accented with metallic gold. newest The smallest heart features a hoopoe bird, which traditionally holds special sacred significance. Interior/bottom of each box is deep black. After painting, it was sealed with clear lacquer which protects the design. Shapes include Hearts, Round, Oval, Rectangular. The large orange heart in 2nd photo is signed on bottom with gold paint by the artist in 1978 and Made in Kashmir.
⚫CONDITION: Very good condition ~ minimal surface wear, mainly on inside. Use ZOOM for closer inspection.
⚫DIMENSIONS: ranges from 2" to 3 1/2".
