Product code: Vintage newest Russian Lacquar Box
The hand painted picture shows a woman admiring her necklace in a hand held mirror. Behind her an open box emits a golden shine. Perhaps this is a fairy tale? The box was completely constructed from paper-mache. Red lacquer covers the interior of the box and black lacquer the outside. A hinge is fastened to the left of newest the composition. The box rests on a flat bottom. The box measures 4" X 2" X 1". On the lower left and lower right of the face, there is writing in Cyrillic. There is also a date for this composition which I cannot make out with certainty but think is 1971 or 1979. The box has been preserved in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, odors, etc. Light surface scratches on the bottom. Finish is smooth as silk. I'm negotiable with the price….
