1921-1940 This tureen has a cobalt blue pattern on blue-white porcelain. The body and lid both have 2 phoenix birds with 8 spots (lid)/10 spots (body) on breasts looking over left shoulders. The traditional pattern of Kiku (chrysanthemum flower) and Kiri (Paulownia plants) with vines and leaves flowing from them surround the phoenix birds on both pieces. The body has the cloud and mountain border at the top rim's edge and the lid has it bordering its edge. The tureen base has the “Tashiro Shoten, Japan” back stamp (Dealing regularly with pottery in 1890s, which disappeared with WWII). The body is in perfect condition. The lid has a slight crow's foot hairline that does not go through to the outside pattern, and a hairline in its handle – see photos.
