Siegfried Slaying the Dragon Hand Painted Large Ceramic Stein.
This magnificent stein was expertly hand painted in lovely, muted shades, adding to its beauty newest and allure! A wonderful display piece - standing over 18" tall - it depicts Siegfried slaying the dragon and is drawn from ancient German and Norse legends, which later served as the basis for Der Ring des Nibelungen, a series of four operas by Richard Wagner. On the lid, Siegfried is seen in a romantic pose with the Valkyrie Brunhilda, his true love and daughter of Wotan, the chief God.
Very good vintage condition with a small chip on bottom of the lid and minor crazing, please see photos as they are part of the description.
Note: I have 2 of these that are identical, the dragon's neck is made that way with a seam.
