Paper cutting has a long history all over the world. From German Scherenschnitte (using small scissors) and Ashkenazi paper cutting (using a knife) to paper cutting in Africa, China, and South America, many people over the centuries have contributed to this magical folk craft. Artist Margaret Herbener has taken the traditional paper cutting and has added her voice to add modern elements into this long-respected art.
