Large Wooden newest Hand Turned Classic Walnut Salad Bowl

As you may have seen in my "About Me" section, I just started turning wooden bowls in April after spending some time with my brother turning a bowl and catching the fever. While I started roughing out bowls in April, I was having to wait for them to dry to do newest the final turn - typically 2-3 months. My brother understood my pain and sent me several bowls that he had roughed out between January and March so I could start finishing them while I waited for mine to dry. He has also mentored and encouraged me all along the way and I would not be where I am without his expert help. Thanks Tom!!!

Amazing dark walnut grain contrasted with the light sapwood highlights the beauty of this bowl. This bowl is special and would make a great family salad bowl, fruit bowl, popcorn bowl, or centerpiece. Thin cracks from the drying process have been filled with tinted cyanoacrylate and add to the character in this bowl. The smooth surface makes the bowl comforting to hold. This is a solid bowl, well-proportioned with a modest foot at the base.
