1970's
A very sharp over coat from Lakeland...Sometimes called a 'cruiser' coat. Nice details like flapped pockets even on the breast, but the standout feature is the inverted pleat back. A large reverse box pleat above the waistline and below another one, open at hem, and looks like a tail vent.
Tri-color houndstooth in Brown & Olive on a Yellow Olive field. Mid weight wool flannel. Now the bad newest news...a few small moth holes, not easy to spot, but flawed none-the-less.
4 1/2" Bird's beak lapel with a small button underneath(mates to boutonniere), has a subtle decorative point on back. 4 button closure. Color coordinated 'tiger's eye' effect buttons. Swelled edge & seam detail. Natural shoulder...NO padding. Plain cuff with single button accent. Jetted pockets with flaps, both hip & breast. Back pleats as described above. Fully lined in Celery satin taffeta including the sleeves.
Approx. measurements:
22.0" Chest, underarm to underarm
18.0" Shoulder to shoulder
24.5" Sleeve, shoulder to cuff
29.0" Back, bottom of collar to hem
Excellent condition other than the moth holes. Five total, approx. 1/8" or smaller: 3 on back..2 at right shoulder, another at hem. 2 on front, one below left pocket - the other, right side near 3rd button down. It's a shame, but a pro re-weaver could repair and restore to near perfection!
