You choose one: 1930s-40s reproduction depression fabric theme, ice hockey theme, or Christmas theme (photo #1).
Each quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted and measures approximately 45” x 54”. This is a nice size for an adult lap or throw quilt or perhaps a bed topper or love seat throw. They each have 30, nine inch blocks comprised of two right angle triangles. A seven and a half inch pinwheel is hand quilted on the top of each nine inch block.
1. Depression era reproductive fabrics are highlighted in this throw (photo #2). Seventeen different cotton prints representing the 1930s and 40s make this a very busy and fun looking quilt. There are florals, French poodles, cats, rabbits, chicks, teddy bears and toy trains set on a variety of background colors ranging from pastels to hot pink. Triangles cut from bold red and brown fabric prints add a nice contrast to the softer traditional colors (photo #3). A buttery yellow colored fabric is used for both the binding and the backing (photo #4). With all the fun ‘critters' frolicking across this quilt it would make a great baby/toddler quilt. The hand quilted pinwheel on each block adds one more design element to this already busy and happy looking quilt.
2. Ice hockey is the name of this quilt's game! Seven different fabrics, including NHL licensed team fabric for the Stanley Cup Champion (2007) Anaheim Ducks are showcased in this adult throw (photo #5). Variations of their team colors of white, orange and black finish of the other six fabric choices. The hand quilted pinwheels on each block gives the illusion of hockey pucks swirling over the rink ice headed for a goal (photo #6)! ‘Ice' white colored fabric binding frames up the top of the quilt while the back is finished off with a bright orange, warm fleece fabric (photo #7). Come game time, whether you are at home watching the game or rink side, this adult lap/throw has got you warmly covered!
3. Christmas themed fabrics using only six different cotton prints are highlighted on this delightful holiday throw (photo #8). Fabric prints with old world European Santas, gingerbread men and their houses, teddy bears, toy drums and classic looking ornaments are all center stage on this quilt and ready for Christmas. The quilt's hand quilted pinwheels might be reminiscent of winter morning snowflakes. This morning they are floating over the top of each Christmas print block (photo newest #9)! Using some of the same fabric as the triangles, a multi-colored binding finishes off the quilt. The backing also uses one of the quilt's fun print fabrics (photo #10) making this quilt reversible, giving you two quilts in one! Come Christmas time this quilt will look great on the back of a couch or love seat and then be ready to snuggle under with someone special while you watch your favorite Christmas movie classic.
