This wonderful mid century Python handbag is almost completely covered with the snakeskin with the exception of the gold tone hardware. It purportedly was made in Argentina but I could not find any indication of this. The bag is a box shape with two thick Python covered handles. The skins have an interesting color very similar to the color of ring lizard skins. There are shades of taupe as well as a beige that has a lot of buttery yellow in it. It has a very unusual pattern or design that is most interesting newest and unusual. The handles are attached with gold tone hardware and the bag closes with a lift up tab. There are 4 small bun feet on the bottom for protection. The inside is lined with a camel and grey leather. There is a zippered pocket as well as an attached coin purse. The inside is relatively spotless.
The bag measures 8 3/4"w x 7"h x 3 3/4"d. It is in great condition. There is slight lifting of some of the scales but this should not be seen as an issue, but rather as the natural aging process of the skins. If I bothers you, please do not purchase the bag.
All in all, a very interesting and appealing skin bag from the mid century.
