A Long Way From Home is a special print for myself in many ways. After a short break from relief printing to pursue intaglio methods and to dive into the realms of screen printing, I have returned home to the comforts of carving tiny newest trees in blocks. It seems to be a running theme, doesn't it?
A Long Way From Home features a partly imaginative, partly rendered scene of the mountains in Lutsen, Minnesota. It's a special place for many because these mountains are where snow enthusiasts thrive in the winter and explorers go to play in the summer. Laughs are shared and memories are made all year round during ski trips, afternoon hikes, and photo sessions in gondolas.
