1980 Coral Reef Stamps - 15 Cent Vintage US Postage Stamps – Sheet of 50 Original newest Unused Postage Stamps – Coral & Tropical Fish Stamps

The 1980 Coral Reef 13 cent vintage US postage stamps were issued on August 26, 1980 at Charlotte Amalie, Virgin Islands and were designed by Chuck Ripper. This is an original full sheet of 50 unused stamps.

These colorful stamps consist of a block of 4, each depicting a different underwater scene with coral formations and tropical fish. A block of 4 stamps will have the following coral species:

1-Chalice Coral: American Samoa
2-Elkhorn Coral: Florida
3-Brain Coral: U.S. Virgin Islands
4-Finger Coral: Hawaii

Each stamp features the coral/fish centered, “Coral Reefs USA 15c” is at the top of the stamp. Small text underneath states the type & location of the coral pictured.

Each stamp measures 1 1/2" tall x 1" wide (3.7 cm x 2.5 newest cm). The entire sheet measures 10 1/4" x 9” wide (26.0 cm x 22.9 cm).

These stamps are “mint” – meaning they have never been used. They have the original glue.

My grand-aunt collected these. She was not a “true” stamp collector & basically stored them in manila envelopes. Whenever the USPS came out with a new stamp – especially a commemorative one – she purchased at least one sheet & put them away in her envelopes.
