Absolutely outstanding blown art glass vase by Ohio artist Tim Jerman. This vase was acquired from a family friend who received it directly from the artist.

Tim Jerman was born in Bellefonte, PA June 25, 1957. He died in Logan, OH on June 6, 2004. Tim Jerman opened his first glass studio in 1978, but a car accident three years later caused a spinal cord injury that prevented him from blowing glass and working on large sculptures. To continue working in glass, he learned flameworking, a method of manipulating glass with a small flame that enabled him to work from his wheelchair. He has two sculptures displayed in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art and has a piece in the permanent collection of the Ohio Craft Museum.

This vase measures 4 1/2 inches tall. The opening across the top measures 2 1/4. The vase is bulbous shaped. It is signed / etched on the bottom Jerman 1978, so this vase was from his early blown glass years. The coloration on this vase is quite outstanding with wonderful blue swirling. Very unusual and attractive. Condition: This vase is in outstanding vintage condition. I hesitate to list any vintage item as MINT, but this one is as close as you will find. Outstanding very rare vase by a well-known glass artist. Please take time to review all photos (all white areas are reflections only) as the pictures are a great representation of condition.

This is one of 3 vases I will be listing by Tim Jerman. Pieces like this do not come up often and would be a perfect addition to an art glass collection. Museum quality piece.
