Jury Gagarin has made the first piloted flight newest in space on April, 12th, 1961! April 12, 1961, USSR Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin aboard the spacecraft Vostok One blasted through the Earth's atmosphere to became the first man in space. The watch he wore and relied upon during that historic flight was a Sturmanskie (sometimes written "Shturmanskie").

“Pobeda”(“Victory”) watches were made by the First Moscow watch factory, Kirov following the Second World War in 1946. The name of the watches was personally endorsed by Stalin. “Pobeda” watches were very popular throughout the Soviet Union time. Later, the brand name “Pobeda” was transferred to the ZIM factory.
