Product code: Vintage WENDY BINKS Australian pottery bowl, featuring a newest Cockatoo bird- rare and immaculate

This is one of three Wendy Binks handmade bowls that I brought all the way home from Australia in about 1993. The other two newest bowls are also available on this site.

PLEASE NOTE: Postage to Australia is expensive, hence my high advertised cost. However, I always refund any postage overages immediately after posting (so within one day), and rarely charge for packaging.

Wendy Binks has a studio and shop in Fremantle, south of Perth, Western Australia, and it's possible that I bought it there.
This Cockatoo has a great glint in his eye!
CONDITION:
The glaze on the central decoration is crackled, but only under close observation. I never consider this a fault.
There are no chips or cracks
The terracotta element is in good condition, with a few small marks on the upper left hand side, which may be there since its studio days.
On the glazed element of the dish - just below the Cockatoo's eye - is a tiny raised dimple of pot under the glaze. This is integral to the item and is not a fault or a result of damage.
MEASUREMENTS:
This circular bowl is 6inches/15cms across, and stands 2inches/5cms high.
The central glazed area is 4.5 inches/11cms wide
DESCRIPTION:
The bowl is signed on the base by the Artist herself - Wendy Binks, and WA, which is Western Australia.
On this bowl there is also an original sticker stating: 'hand painted by Wendy Binks, Western Australia'
This bowl is made mostly of an unvarnished terracotta pot material, but the deep centre of the bowl is highly coloured and glazed, and so eye-catching.
The bowl features another well known Australian native bird - the Cockatoo. I'm not certain, but it may be the Major Mitchell Cockatoo, which I saw in a zoo there one time.
The bright colours are absolutely lovely, and the bowl itself is hand-painted by the Artist.
It's actually quite difficult to photograph as the high glaze reflects light wherever I put it!
This lovely dish - and Wendy Binks items in general - are rare finds here in Europe; there are virtually none available. This is a wonderful example of her earlier work.
