Product code: Anglo-Saxon Seax Blade - newest damascus - [02 Sax-Kl Jorvik - DAM/ H1 E-5]

Short seax blade made of damascus steel in bowie knife shape.

With this typical for the Anglo-Saxons of the Viking Age Broken-back seax blade made of genuine Damascus steel, you can easily manufacture your own Viking Era seax with a little skill.

The Anglo-Saxon seax blade is forged from 256 layered damascus steel and comes well sharpened. The hardness of the blade is 50 to 58 HCR Rockwell.

The damascus blade is made from two different types of steel:

On the one hand, carbon steel AISI 1095 is used, a classic among the knife steels, which is very tough as an unalloyed tool steel and can be grinded well, whereby it has a solid service life.

On the other hand, AISI 4340 is used, a nickel-containing steel with good properties which, when used in damascus steel, produces beautiful light areas and noble contrasts.

Both steels together produce newest a beautifully flamed damascus steel. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and has its individual damascus pattern.

The dimensions of Anglos-Saxon seax blade are:

Total length 32 cm
Cutting edge 20 cm
Blade-back 4 mm
Blade height 2.5 - 3.5 cm
Tang 12 cm
