This listing is for a set of three variations of Pablo Picasso's poster "Exposition Hispano-Américaine" (Henri Tronche Gallery, December 1951) taken from Art in Posters: The Complete Original Posters of Braque, Chagall, Dufy, Léger, Matisse, Miró, Picasso (Paris: André Sauret, 1959) printed by Mourlot Frères.
The descriptive catalogue of Art in Posters notes that "Picasso made three fairly similar designs. The one referred to under no.63 was newest the one eventually chosen for the poster." Nonetheless, the book reproduces two other versions, listed as "a few proofs reserved for the artist." Here, 63, 64, and 65 are offered together.
The image on each page measures approximately 8.75 x 6.25"
A page number is visible in the lower right (63, 64, 65)
Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) is widely regarded as one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
Art in Posters is quite valuable in its own right but this particular copy was found already split with a considerable number of loose pages. Although designed as a catalogue raisonné, each page is so well printed that it should be framed.
Note that the paper has faded around the edges, consistent with age (see picture).
Images are from scanner and smartphone to show various lighting conditions and page size.
