This solar system birdhouse is out of this world cute!!! Made of untreated cedar with a background of black stain, with the planets and stars painted with bright colors and metallic paints. The planets and stars are burned into the wood to give each a newest more 3 dimensional look. The outside is treated with a gloss acrylic to help keep the finish colorfast. The satellite, astronaut and space shuttle are plastic and each is glued and nailed to the birdhouse.
The base is 7 X 8 inches and has a sliding panel for removal of old nests. The inner flooring is 4 1/2 X 5 inches and the housing has a scored wall for easy footing to the 1 1/4 inch entrance.
Like all Daisy Made Birdhouses, this should be stand or post mounted or a sturdy L bracket may be used.
I take extra care with packing/shipping but do take measures to keep the package size and weight minimal without compromising the safe arrival of your birdhouse.
