This scene illustrates the story of the infamous Welsh witch Ceridwen chasing down her foe, Gwion Bach. She has shapeshifted into an hound. Gwion bach, her enemy, has shapeshifted into a hare but will become a salmon as he leaps into the river. You can find out about this tale in the Welsh Mabinogion legends.

This is linocut - an original print on acid-free paper. The ink is non-toxic (water as well as oil based), olive green in colour. The print area is 22cm squared printed onto paper that is 35cm squared.

1 of 30 in this varied edition, signed and titled by the artist Helen Arthur, owner and Skirrid Print Studio based near Offa's Dyke on the Welsh border.

This print is sold unframed but pictured here for demonstration. It is carefully wrapped in biodgradable wrapping and sent in a cardboard tube.
