Original 1940s 40s Vintage Navy Blue Heavy Crepe Jacket With Notched Collar And Soutache Pockets And Bodice

This wonderful navy blue jacket was made from heavy crepe jacket in the 1940s. The jacket boasts a classic hourglass silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The open v-neckline and notched collar are surrounded with intricate soutache decoration to the bodice. Five tigers eye effect buttons run in a single line from the bottom of the newest neckline to the waist, whilst the functional waist pockets are adorned with even more stunning soutache decoration. Inside, the jacket is lined in navy blue crepe and has no maker's labels.

The jacket is in good condition, however there is some discolouration to the fabric next to the buttons. This is likely where the original buttons (probably Bakelite) would have been positioned before they were replaced and slightly relocated to make the jacket larger. The good news is that the discolouration cannot be seen when the jacket is done up. There are also some small holes to the crepe lining and the back of the jacket as pictured.
