Small Size Punk Vest. This vintage style denim waistcoat/vest has a 'Defiance, Ohio' patch across the shoulders (for the brilliant US Punk Band). Badges to the front are; 'Crazy Bitch', 'A' for anarchy, Che Guevara, 'Spirit of '76' and 'AntiFacsist Sempire'.

There are no size labels in this high-quality garment of well-matured denim but it must be an XS due to the measurements. Pit to Pit is 16" (41cm), Collar to Hem is 18" (46cm).

All of our garments are Old/Vintage so I will always quote the Pit to Pit and Collar to Hem (or waist/inside leg) measurements of the garments themselves. The best way to tell if they will fit is to measure something that fits you well and compare with these. If unsure, please message me and I will give you more guidance with regard to sizing.

Back in 1976 when Punk Rock hit I was still at school (so a Mohican was not an option) but I got to as many gigs as I could and would pull together some really punk clothes. My old Mum was a dressmaker so was in great demand among my mates for sewing on the patches, although it took a while to get her to stop repairing the slashes I had just made (If it had safety pins holding it together why wouldn't I want it mended properly?). I am now recreating some of the things that we were wearing at the time using vintage garments as the base just like we did back then newest and guess what my Mum is still doing the sewing (even though she doesn't approve of some of the words and pictures). Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood (being both inspired by and inspiring these street fashions) sold these sort of garments from their boutique at 430 King's Road London (‘Sex', ‘Seditionaries' or ‘World's End'), but I didn't know anyone who could afford the prices there.

Most of the patches and badges I use are reproductions (when they are original, I will state this in the description) but they are great quality and definitely have the look. The patches are all machine or hand-sewn (thanks Mum) not stuck on and each garment is a hand-created, one-off original and totally unique. Some of my items reflect later Punk and New Wave trends or perhaps could be described as ‘Punk adjacent', but they all have the real Punk Attitude!

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, I managed to get to see most of the punk groups that made it down to Portsmouth and Southampton and also got up to London from time to time for those that wouldn't come to me. The ones I saw included (in no particular order); The Clash, The Ramones, Stiff Little Fingers, Blondie, The Jam, The Members, The Undertones, The Selector, The Sex Pistols, Toyah Willcox, The Buzzcocks, The Stranglers, Madness, Altered Images, Angelic Upstarts, The Boomtown Rats, Cockney Rejects, The Damned, The Cure, The Dickies, Elvis Costello, The Go Go's, Hazel O'Conner, Ian Dury, Public Image, Sham 69, X-Ray Spex, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. I'm sure there were many others, but as a fair amount of alcohol was often involved, things seem to have become a bit blurred.
