A lovely vintage silver-plated Gorham "Dancing Elephants" jigger. This jigger, circa 1940s, showcases three pink-enameled elephants, each in a different dance pose and holds up to 3 ounces (each etched line represents 1 ounce newest, so one can measure exact ounces). Truly a neat figural bar measure.

A little bit about this maker: Jabez Gorham started Gorham silver in 1831 in a shop on Steeple Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Born to a family of eight, he was apprenticed to New England silver patriarch Nehemiah Dodge at a very early age. Dodge is known as one of the founders of the silver and jewelry crafts industry in 18th century New England. After his seven-year apprenticeship with Dodge, Jabez formed his own business and quickly established a name for himself. For more than 150 years Gorham Silver has been known as one of the preeminent silversmith companies in the world and well-known for their vintage barware items including this Dancing Elephants jigger.

Hallmarks: "“Gorham EP YC80" can be found on the bottom of the jigger

Measurements: 3" tall (holds 3 ounces total; 1 ounce per elephant)

Condition: Fair/good condition. We're listing this as "fair to good" due to a ding on the rim and some tarnish. Here's a full summary:

1) There's a small ding on the rim (it actually resembles a tiny pour spout). See photo #6
2) The bottom of the jigger has a tiny ding right on the edge -- see photo #8
3) There's some pretty intense tarnish that may or may not polish away (tarnish that's been in place for years can be very stubborn) -- see all photos
4) There's some tarnish to the very bottom of the interior -- see photo #8

The pink enamel is in great condition (a rarity for this particular jigger). In short, this jigger is in fair/good condition with noticeable signs of tarnish, general age, and two dings. Truly a neat measurer.

**PLASE NOTE on the tarnish around the pink enameled elephants: If you choose to polish this piece, we recommend that you DO NOT rub on/over the pink enameled elephants, to ensure that you don't harm/remove the pink enamel. Cheers!
