Newest Highland Croft, original framed painting of a traditional thatched house, painted in acrylics on canvas mounted board

A painting of a traditional thatched croft or Scottish farm house, with white painted stone walls and a reed or marram grass roof. Inspired by the old vernacular architecture of the houses of the west coast Highlands and Hebridean islands of Scotland, where these houses can still sometimes be found, often called black houses especially, Coll, Tiree, and the Outer Hebrides of Lewis and Harris.
Painted in a fun whimsical naive style, on a bold colourful dramatic stormy sky, using a palette knife and sometimes my fingers instead of brushes, to create an atmospheric painting.

This would look great in a fun country themed home, Also a great reminder of Scotland for Scots or as a souvenir of a visit to the Heridean islands or the Scottish Highlands. A great size that will fit any wall space, either alone or in a group of similar paintings.

Quality artists grade acrylic on canvas
Canvas size 8" x 8" /20 x 20cm plus 1" frame
Canvas mounted on 3mm ply board, using quality artists medium, with a protective U.V. varnish to protect it from fading.
Signed on the back, with title.
Usually signed on the front too in a place that does not detract from the painting.
Framed in a white hand painted wood frame with cord ready to hang, with black and natural frame options available too.
Frame may differ slightly to ones shown depending on availability of moulding but will be similar, if in doubt please ask and I will show you the exact frame moulding.
If you prefer to frame it yourself then there is an unframed option also, where the painting will be mounted on 3mm ply board for you to easily frame.
