Fine jewelry used to be made with impression dies, where a male and female hub were used to mold or impress a design into gold and silver (and platinum!). Unfortunately most of these companies have long gone out of business and only a few have collected and replicated these hubs for use in modern jewelry making.

This necklace is made from one such hub, pressed by hand in a 12 ton press using sterling silver and woman-power! The back of this gorgeous pendant is from a die that resembles currents of air or water swirling over the translucent agate.

Hand set in a sterling silver bezel with a gold filed overlay is a gorgeous one of a kind translucent agate with greens, whites and reds and yellows swirling in its depths. This stone changes color in the light and its elegance is set off with the more rustic treatment of the bezel.
