You and I need to talk before I make your special bear from your fabrics - or from a style of fabric or fur

I would love to make a bear from something soooo fun....like a Wedding Dress or a Prom Gown...wouldn't that be soooo cool!

It started when a friend asked me to make a bear from the fabrics in her baby's room.
So now I make custom bears. These pictures are examples of bears that have very precious memories for their owners.
You cannot buy these bears....they have gone home to be with the families.

In each case, I used multiple pieces of fabric, clothes, trims and newest buttons. Almost anything you have can be made into a memory bear. Nonstretchy fabrics are best. I will reinforce stretchier fabrics with interfacing so they will hold the shape of a bear.

My bears range in size from 12 inches to about 24 inches. The size depends on what you want and the amount of fabric you send me. Although the bears I have photographed are made from multiple fabrics, I have also made bears from a single pattern. (I think my favorite was a blue chenille bedspread that became the cutest bear - and I can't find a photo of it anywhere!)

If the memory bear is made from adult clothing, I will need only 1-2 pieces (although more make a wild bear). As the clothing gets smaller, I will need more pieces….or I can make a smaller bear.

My bears will have the arms and legs externally jointed. Fabric bears don't do well with internal joints.

If you look at the beer T-shirt Teddy bear, you can see I used beer bottle caps as joints.

These bears could have little parts (eyes), trims etc and therefore are not toys for children.
