Ancient religious figurine of the late 1800s newest depicting the Madonna

Ancient statuette representing our Lady probably ended in the 800s. It is made of newest paperweight as far as the body is concerned. Terracotta hands and face. The base is made of painted raw wood. Despite showing some signs of the time the statue is of good impact. The face is well preserved. Also valuable is the hand decoration of the dress. Further down notice the baroque M that probably stands for Mary. It comes from an Italian collection.
