newest Inspired by the movie Tale of Tales based on the work by Italian writer Gianbattista Basile, the time period, the sets, and ALL the Italian castles this film brought to the screen, I came away in a trance. I had put this design to linen, from an book on Art Nouveau designs. But the colors and piece only came to light after being transported to the Renaissance Italy. About 15 x 15, I drove my hubby crazy to find the proper frame. Originally going in a smaller frame and just filling the opening. But expanding the size to show a peach brocade background, (reverse appliqued onto the linen) and white mother of pearl shell coins around the brownish background of the flower, brought this work to the completed masterpiece you are looking at now. Unfortunately, the bedroom light does not show this work as i would like it. The dark color is purple gold rainbow opaque beads, which appear iridescent brown . The flower has gold and white pearly beads. It is mounted on black velvet, and in a Japanese wooden frame under glass.
