Stunning signed "Marslieu Sterling" pearl, rhinestone and vermeil sterling silver flower basket brooch. Circa 1930's 1940's. Luscious clusters of pearls (believed to be real but not tested) in three shades adorn the gold washed sterling silver flower basket. Tiny rhinestones travel along the top edge of the basket and again near the foot. Marslieu began producing jewelry in 1917 and later became Imperial Pearl newest Syndicate in the 1940's. Jewelry was produced in Providence, RI. Closes securely with a rotating C clasp. The signature cartouche is on the back of the brooch.
In very good condition. The pearls are all present and secure. The vermeil over sterling finish has developed a neatly tarnished patina over these 80 + years. The rhinestones are all present.
