This genuine hand crafted hand painted wood carving was designed by the artist Juan Ferrandiz, a painter who wrote poetry and a poet who painted pictures. He received his artistic education at the “Reial Académia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi” in Barcelona, later became himself an art professor and devoted himself to the design of figures based on his particular predilection for childish themes. His collaboration with ANRI allowed the ANRI Master carvers to bring many of his designs to life. Juan Ferrándiz passed away in August 1997, at the age of 79.

The lovely sculpture was carved from a single block of wood. Every single cut was worked by hand and every detail carefully hand brushed with special transparent oil based colors so that the beauty of the wood grain remains visible. 6" (15 cm). "Ferrandiz" facsimile signature (his personal stamp of approval) incised on the back of the base. This limited edition is marked with the ANRI logo burnt into the underside of the base and the number 1653 out of 2250 limited edition. Sans original box.

Likely made circa 1980-1983. In Excellent vintage condition.
