What exactly is a "Herkimer" diamond?
Herkimer references the location where they were first found at Herkimer, New York. They are not diamonds as we know them, but are a variety of double terminated quartz that embody a high crystal energy. Herkimers can be clear, slightly colored or cloudy and many have black anthraxolite inclusions.
