About the painting Turning Haw: This painting was inspired by a real team of mules sowing in a cover crop that I saw one day on a trip. I love horses and mules. Growing up with my own horse, I have had opportunity to enjoy doing some draft work myself and western riding. However, this painting isn't a "'western theme only" painting. It is also a landscape painting, one that tries to capture hard work, farm life, and beautiful country.
Fun fact: "Haw" is a teamsters command to his draft animals to turn left.
