On the front cover a vortex of swirling midnight blue magic veils the silvery shards of a cracked mirror. On the back small shining shards dance in dark blue spirals. Mystery and chaos that invite you deep into this journal, to write your memories, dreams and secrets on its soft white pages. The paper for this book was specifically chosen to be soft to the touch and thick (80lb) so that it will be a pleasure to write on each of its 63 acid free pages.
The covers were lovingly created by hand from layers of mirror finish mylar and dark blue unryu paper on top of a strong dent-resistant board (6 x 9 inches or 15.2 x 22.9 cm). They are a deep midnight blue that has a slight purple newest hue to it (this purple hue doesn't come across clearly in the pictures) and the design has a strong metallic sheen. The book is sewn with a sturdy black cord that has a silken finish. The binding was done using an alteration of the Coptic stitch that produces a strong book with attractive braided pattern along the spine. This binding style also allows the book to open flat, making it easy to write in.
