This is a large antique transferware pitcher, made circa early 1900s. It was made by the East Liverpool Potteries Company, in Ohio, USA.
This antique wash pitcher is white, with lovely floral transferware decoration. The flowers are found adorning the body of the pitcher, and also on the inside of newest the spout.
The color of the transferware decoration is hard to describe. It is a unusual blue color; sometimes it looks more blue to me, other times it looks more grayish blue, or grayish greenish blue.
This pitcher is in good condition, with the following issues noted: a couple of teeny dimples or indents in the surface, that happened when the pitcher was made; a short groove or line on the bottom rim, as indicated in the pictures; a few minor flakes and spots on/near the bottom rim. The pitcher, except for the issues noted above, has no crazing, stains, cracks, or chips. (Please excuse all the camera glare/white spots in the pictures.)
Size is approx. 11-3/4" high, measuring at the highest area of the spout. From handle to spout, it measures approx. 11" across. It is about 8" wide.
The bottom is marked with a shield mark, and the letters E.L.P. Co., for East Liverpool Potteries Company.
