Aunt Charlotte's Nursery Book by Charlotte Mary Yonge - R. Worthington 1884 - Scarce antique children's book

This is a antique children's book from the 1880s. It's was copyrighted in 1884 and has the sweetest illustrations. It's in great shape for it's age and a very hard to find book as well as a great example of a Victorian era children's book. It contains the ABCs with rhymes and illustrations for each letter. Several short stories (including 1 Santa story), more rhymes, songs, some short pieces about history and natural history.

Hardcover book with a large color illustrated pastedown on top board. Light brown cloth. No page numbers, but I count 63 pages Profusely illustration in black and white - many full (or 3/4) page illustrations

Condition: Two leaves have a short 1" tear in the bottom margin. There is some age toning around the page edges. There is chipping to the pastedown illustration on the top board - just a little around the edges. The board corners are worn. It's surprisingly clean inside. No foxing and just very minor soiling on the endpapers. There is a prior owner inscription in pencil on the front free endpaper. Hinges are NOT cracked. It's really in remarkable condition for a children's book this age. I would put it at very good.
