This painting is on vintage Crescent PaintAPanel, genuine canvas surface with artist signature of "Cook". The painting itself appears to be acrylic and the subject is flowers. It is set in an antique ornate oval gilt brass frame that has a beautiful aged patina on it. From research, the frame may be from the late 19th century. I don't believe the artwork dates that far back though. The contrast of the teal background in the painting against the brass of the frame is absolutely eye catching. The swing arm that allows the frame to stand alone is not there and it was wired by the previous owner for wall hanging. The frame Metalis marked with the numbers 08969 and has no glass in order to protect the art. The entire piece is about 11" tall and 8 3/4" wide.
