Souvenir de Mauve, newest Pink Peach Trees after Vincent Van Gogh

This painting lovingly recreates a painting of pink peach trees in blossom by the post-impressionist master Vincent Van Gogh. When Van Gogh arrived in Arles, France, there was snow on the ground and it was bitterly cold, but the flowers and trees had already started to blossom. Vincent painted this soon after his arrival and inscribed it, "Souvenir de Mauve", "In Memory of Mauve", after his cousin Anton Mauve. Mauve was a realist painter in the 1800s and was one of Van Gogh's teachers. He died around the time of Vincent's arrival in Arles, and Vincent painted this in memory of his cousin.
