Handmade Horse Hair Ceramic Textured Bowl - newest Western Horse Hair Pottery Design

This horsehair fired bowl was first hand thrown on the pottery wheel, then after drying it was bisque fired. The piece was then heated to 1300 degrees, at which point it was removed from the kiln and strands of horsehair were applied to its hot surface. As the horsehair burnt off, it left behind a black carbon trail, giving the piece it's design. Every piece fired in this technique is unique. After cooling it was finished with wax polish. As this bowl is a decorative piece, newest it is not meant to hold water. It is 4.5 by 8.25 inches in size.
