Antique miners watch case
Lovely old brass watch case with a bevelled glass front and screw top. What a lovely tactile piece of history. This would have been used down the mines to protect a pocket watch from the dirt and dust. It's an impressive size which makes me think it might have been the foremans watch! It is marked 5 on the reverse which is the size of watch it would take. A lovely weight and nice feel in the palm of the hand. Quite crudely made but an honest piece with soldering marks apparent inside from its' fabrication. Possibly Welsh.

In very good condition some newest wear appropriate for its' age and two minor chips on the inside of the glass.
