The leather on this journal is 100 percent cowhide. It still carries some of the marks, characteristics and sometimes pars of the brand of the animal that wore it. The fastener that keeps the journal closed is a piece of whitetail deer antler gathered on a Texas ranch.

Inside the journal are 100 sheets (200 pages, counting both sides) of durable, FSC Certified, fully recyclable paper. The Ranger Star (also called the Texas Star) on the front is the finishing touch, a respectful reminder that the journal comes from the Lone Star State.

Each “Taking Texas with Me” Cowboy Journal comes with an attractive bookmark that notes the journal's authenticity and makes recommendations for its care. The back of the bookmark is blank, suitable for a personal message. The journal comes in two sizes: small 6×9″ and medium 5×7.25.”
