Figural Winged Egyptian Goddess - Isis
10" wide and 4" high - heavy gauge brass
Very beautiful repousse detail of a seated Isis with wide wing spread
Bright metallic - one or newest two minor dents but in great condition - (3 are available - they are identical and each figure faces the same direction)
Spiked prongs on back for attachment to upholstery fabric or can be embedded into furniture.
This is from a huge collection of metal items from my father's shop in Brooklyn which closed several decades ago. Herman Bienstock's popular store "Old Brassware" was on Coney Island Ave near Dorchester Rd. in Flatbush. He often bought large amounts of architectural metal from NYC buildings as they were torn down or renovated during the 1950s through the 70s. Much of it came from churches, synagogues and public buildings. Sorry, I have no idea where this particular item came from.
