Custom sizes: We have sold hundreds- and I am not exaggerating.
Made from genuine Eastern Pine from the United States with nice grains. You can lift and move a pine stool quite easily. Each stool will be unique and picked for desirable grain patterns.
Heavy Duty Details: I designed this for older heavy adults to step on and not tip over. I chose a wide stance but the way I constructed it is where the strength comes from. The width of the connecting pieces and the proper placement of 22 screws at every possible point makes this able to hold hundreds of pounds! I weigh 250 newest pounds and it doesn't flinch!
NOTE: Others do not add the lower center cross runner like we do ...look underneath; picture 5, then look at the other step stools on Etsy. This is why our 11 x 16 step is as strong as our 14" x 24" models. No shortcut pocket screws either that only grab half the wood. Not good.
I sand and stain each unique piece by hand. I use top grade products. Nice routered edges add to the piece while keeping the focus on the grain patterns.
Each step stool I make will be slightly unique in grain, small knots or color. We use sanded wooden screw caps, not plastic.
