CRAZY QUILT, Antique Crazy Quilt, Cotton, Silk, Satin, Velvet, Hand Sewn, Purchased in 70's, My guess is MCM Vintage, Red and Green Knot Ties, Decorative Cross Stitch Patch Framing, Denim Stripe Mattress Ticking Backing

I purchased this quilt in the early 70s @ a Country Fair in Upstate New York. The owner thought it was made sometime in the 40s.....and the fabric assortment supported that theory. I loved it immediately for the fabric and color combinations........and It worked perfectly in a little house "We" ( I ) had begun to decorate. The printed fabrics are sophisticated and timeless with deep jewel tone colors accented by the softer tonalities.

Clean condition, free of stains and odors. Has been well cared for and preserved for many years. Some pieces of fabric have unfortunately not held up after so many years, specifically the silk or satin fabrics so it does have minor fabric loss throughout..I can send more photos on request~ but the following is a rundown~ There are a few missing pieces and some repair is needed. See photo of a crepe de chine silk I purchased to repair the missing patches. ( photo #4 )...I will include it with the quilt. The 3 spots where it is most necessary can be seen in photo #1. ( Look for the white spots). Also the turquoise blue daisy print in silk crepe ( photo #3 ) is beginning to ream, this swatch should be enough for any problem spots. There are also 2 frayed edges on the mattress ticking backing @ the binding edge. See ( photo #5 ).

The quilt measures 60" wide x 76" long, with a ¾" border edge binding....AGAIN~ I can make more photos available for interested buyers...as some repair work will be necessary to restore to a perfect condition.
