Zuni mask
These Native American masks are worn each year by dancers, during ceremonies based newest on the cycle of the seasons. It celebrates the departure and return – in July and March – of the "Kachina", deities linking the great forces of the cosmos to men. The dancers, costumed and masked, are transformed into messengers of these divinities that they literally “incarnate”.
