This is a beautiful and unique ceramic bowl that is perfect for decoration, but could also be a serving dish. I would highly recommend hand washing for this bowl!

This food safe glaze is full of crystals that grow and burst into a variety of colors and patterns when fired. This is actually a combination of three glazes that I layered to create this gorgeous look! The variety of blue and green crystals explode and create beautiful art. It has a very impressionistic feel!

Crystal glazes create bright, multicolor bursts and specks, unique in every firing. Color crystals move in the glaze firing creating a distinctive colorful finish, depending on the size of the crystal, slope of the piece, and temperature of the fire.

This unique bowl is part of my "Channel Islands" collection of pottery. If you ever have a chance to go scuba diving in the waters around the Channel Islands, you will see the beauty of kelp. This area, near Santa Barbara, is home to one third of the kelp forests in Southern California.

Every piece of my pottery is:

- Hand thrown on my potter's wheel

- Glazed by hand , usually with three coats of glaze, sometimes with as many as five different glazes layered!

- Fired twice in my kiln

- Dishwasher, microwave and food safe (lead free glazes)
